Beat that fear!

Lutendo is left in the hands of Makhadzi, her neighbour,
in the dusty streets of Budeli Village. The turbine wheels in
the middle of the night at Fumba Gold Mine up the mountain often
give her good sleeps whenever she feels lonely. If not a radio on
the table, it is the books beside her that bring different worlds for
her attention. Most unaccomplished dreams are in the cemetery due
to sacrifices those men and women made for their remaining
loved ones.
Mrs.Khomo is her role model in all aspects until one day Lutendo
discovers the secret behind her divorce. Takalani,a son-in-law to
Makhadzi, falls in love with the lady assistant Refiloe who turns
everything gold in the shop. Zefania, a black lawyer-to-be,
misinterprets the lecturer’s intention in the streets of Bisho.
The freedom-is-coming songs are not only heard on the radio but
residents are also excited about the running water and electricity.
Nick, a missionary-German, is always protected by the
two beautiful hearts: Dumsile and Ntombifuthi in the hills
of Swaziland.The secret box Lutendo finds in her late parents’
bedroom demands her to trace her roots. As a church girl
and part of the first group of women to grab opportunities
in the new South Africa, she remains patient despite her peers
having progressed further than her.
